Biography of Joint Director of NINS

Prof. Dr. Md. Badrul Alam Mondal was born in 30th June, 1957 in a muslim family in Kachuahat village of Shaghata Upazila in the District of Gaibandha. He was graduated in MBBS degree in 1982 from Rangpur Medical College, Rangpur, Bangladesh under the University of Rajshahi. In 1999 he was got the post graduation degree on MD (Neurology) from Institute of Post Graduate Medicine & Research (IPGMR), Dhaka, Bangladesh under the University of Dhaka. He was joined in the Government Job as Assistant Surgeon at Rangpur Medical College Hospital, Rangpur, Bangladesh on 31 October 1983. Later on he was promoted as Assistant Professor of Neuromedicine at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dhaka on 30 June 1999; Associate Professor on 24 September 2006 and Professor on 30 May 2012 at NINS. He was appointed as Project Director of NINS on 12 January 2012 as Additional charge. As a Project Director, he has established National Institute of Neurosciences (NINS) in Bangladesh which is 300 bedded hospital. The institute gives services to the neurological & neurosurgical patients as well as creates new avenue for the development of manpower. He is now working as Professor of Neurology & Joint Director at National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was Fellow of American College of Physician (FACP), USA and Royal College of Physician (FRCP), Glasgow, UK. He acts as Vice President of “Society of Neurologist of Bangladesh” from 2016 to Present. He was Organizing Secretary of “Society of Neurologist of Bangladesh” from 2007-2016. He is also the Member of Society of Pain Medicine, Bangladesh and Association of Physician of Bangladesh. He has ten (10) peer reviewed scientific publications in both national and international journals.
